RepCinema App — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 October 2026

WHO WE ARE

RepCinema is an app listing repertory cinema screenings in London. This policy explains what we collect when you sign in and use it. It covers the app only — the repcinema.com website is separate.

The data controller is New Wave IT Services FZCO. For anything in this policy, including requests to see or delete your data, contact contact@repcinema.com.

WHAT WE COLLECT

When you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and your Google account identifier. Depending on your Google settings we may also receive your name and profile picture. We never see your Google password, and we cannot access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google service — the app only asks for your basic profile and email.

When you save a screening to your watchlist, we store the film title, the venue, the screening date and when you saved it, linked to your account so it appears on your other devices.

When you mark a venue as a favourite, we store which venue it is, linked to your account, for the same reason.

When you redeem a voucher code, we record which code was used, when, and by which account.

Crash reports. If the app crashes or a screen fails to show, a report of the error goes to our crash-reporting provider: what went wrong in the app's code, a short record of the screens and buttons used just before it, the app's version, and technical details about the phone (its model, Android version, language, time zone and screen size). It does not identify you: it includes no account, email address, watchlist, favourite venues or other identifier. Nothing is sent while the app is working normally.

Technical records. Our hosting providers keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses, for security and diagnosing faults.

WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

No analytics or tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no third-party tracker and no behavioural profiling in the app.

No payment details. Where a subscription is offered in future, payment is handled entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Card details never reach us.

No location data. Venue listings are the same for everyone; the app does not ask for or use your device location.

We do not sell or share your data with anyone for marketing.

WHY WE HOLD IT, AND ON WHAT BASIS

We hold your account, watchlist and favourite venues so we can identify you, honour your subscription or voucher, and keep your saved screenings in sync across your devices. The legal basis is performance of a contract — you cannot have an account-based service without an account.

Technical logs are kept on the basis of legitimate interests: keeping the service secure and working.

WHAT THE APP KEEPS ON YOUR PHONE

The app keeps your sign-in, your settings (theme, text size and the like), and a copy of the listings, your watchlist and your favourite venues on your phone, so it opens straight away and still works without a signal. None of it is used for analytics or advertising, and the app sets no cookies. Signing out removes your sign-in and the copy; your settings stay on the phone until you uninstall the app.

WHO ELSE PROCESSES YOUR DATA

We use three service providers, each acting on our instructions:

• Google — handles sign-in. Google's own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy) covers what Google does with your account.
• Supabase — hosts the database holding your account, watchlist and favourite venues.
• Sentry — receives crash reports from the app, so we can fix what went wrong.

WHERE YOUR DATA IS STORED

Your account, watchlist and favourite venues are held in a database in London, in the United Kingdom. Crash reports are held by Sentry in the European Union (Germany).

RepCinema is operated by New Wave IT Services FZCO, which is based in the United Arab Emirates, so your data may be accessed from there in the course of running and supporting the service.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

Watchlist entries are kept indefinitely, including for screenings that have already happened, so you have a record of films you were interested in and have seen. They are not deleted automatically when the month ends.

Your account is kept for as long as you use the app.

DELETING YOUR ACCOUNT

You can delete your account in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. If you no longer have the app, email contact@repcinema.com from the address you signed in with, and we will delete it within one month.

Deleting your account removes it, together with your whole watchlist and your favourite venues. If you redeemed a voucher code, the code stays marked as used so it can't be redeemed again, but it no longer records which account used it. Nothing else linked to you is kept.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:

• show you the personal data we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your account and data
• give you a copy in a portable format
• restrict or object to how we use it

Email contact@repcinema.com and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk — though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.

CHILDREN

The app is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

CHANGES

If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and change the date at the top. Significant changes will be notified in the app.
